What to do?
It's spring break, and I must have no life, being stuck at home. My partner Christine is on vacation in Florida, and we're keeping in touch via text message. You'd think that spring break would give me lots of free time to work on writing the files. Unfortunately, no, I'm lacking much inspiration. I'm carrying around a 1 inch binder around with me though which I'm using as a writing portfolio. More than anything I'm just working on the stupid science essay and math packet I have to work on. Also, I'm working on a review of the drama "The Gem of Life", writing some poetry, and making random notes. Oh, and doodling. :D
Who knows though, I think inspiration and interest is starting to lack for me. Christine probably won't be checking our site for a while, and she'll probably kill me when she comes back and read this message, but I don't know if I'll keep working on this blog. What I'm working with right now is not much, just a lot of middle school experiences. I don't know if that's enough to base a story on. Right now I have 3 choices:
a)continuing the story with the same writing and plan I had before
b)relaunching "The Messed Up Files of Life" so that it is no longer plainly based on people we know and the experiences we go through, but more fictional characters, settings, plots, etc.
c)leaving this project behind completely
Now if I choose choice A, I'll even bore myself probably. And I will not leave this project behind completely, because this is what me and Christine have worked hard to build up. I'd like to choose Choice B, but I'll have to drop Christine a text to get the thumbs up. Wish me luck!
20 minutes later:
Got the thumbs up! Time for the creativity to kick in!

Writer's Block; Some mumbo jumbo about characters
So how do you guys like the story/graphics/characters/etc so far?
WARNING: Lots of mumbo jumbo about the characters up ahead. Read at your own risk!
Characters are still being introduced, and for now it's a lot about Iris and Christine. Andrew, Chris, and Zach have already appeared, and they are a pretty important part to the story. Bell is also important, and she will appear more in the next file or two. Jenny, phew, she stays out of dating drama, but she's always there for Iris and the girls :D. So, of course, she plays a part. Same goes for Elise, and she always brings many laughs, so how could we let her go? We've decided to cut out a subplot that has Nathan and Cheri going out, despite my partner pressuring me to keep it. This will probably lead to Cheri's character being cut entirely. Ash, Coco, Layla, and Fin are important too, but not until later, so as for now, they're just another group of our friends.
Stick around, and keep checking back. More coming soon.
Also, if you happen to go to our school, *hint hint* Bell and Sparkwing, help me brainstorm for what to write. I'm a one WOMAN band here with this writing. Hehe. See ya soon!
P.S. You know you guys can comment? I'd really like the feedback. And when I say comment, I mean on what you think, what you like, and what you think I could do better. I do NOT mean tell me "CHANGE THIS!" "CHANGE THAT!" from the people who I wrote a character especially for. BELL! *stares*

File 3: Chatter Chatter Chatter
This just in: My best friend is dating someone for the first time. So who's the lucky guy? Er...someone I never expected for her to go out with. Why? Cuz...he's someone she has known since kindergarten and there has never once been any 'romantic' feelings between them. It's pretty weird seeing her like this. She had never liked boys or had a crush before. She had been in this stage since birth and in just one weekend all that has changed. There's the end of that. And guess what I'm thinking? I'm thinking this can't end well. But hey, I'm happy for her. For now. O_O Stay tuned.
******************************************************
"Bell, Jenny! Hey! Wait up!" yelled Iris as she tried to catch up with them in the school halls. "Why do you guys always leave me behind?" she said after she was beside them. "Pff, you're not the farthest one behind" Jenny replied, and they all turned around to see that Andrew and Christine were slowly walking a couple of paces behind them, having a conversation. "Hey, lovebirds! Hurry up!" Jenny called to them as Bell and Iris burst into laughs.
The two lovebirds seemed to be concentrated really hard in their conversation because they didn't have a snide reply to that comment. "Aw our little Christine has finally grown up" Bell said. "Yep she has..." Iris started and turned to Bell, and put a hand on her shoulder. "Please don't do the same so soon" she finished, and went into her English class.
Zach, Jack, and Chris were already at their table, and Jack seemed to be making fun of Zach's shirt, which was bright red and white with a checkerboard pattern. The shirt looked a lot like...a picnic table. "Um..." Iris said to Zach as she sat down. "No offense or anything...but your shirt makes you look like a picnic table." Zach said "I know" and grumbled. Iris turned to Chris. "Do you have any comment on this?" "Well, yeah. He DOES look like a picnic table," he said. "That's what I've been trying to tell you!" Jack said.
"Fine then. From now on, YOU," Iris pointed to Zach "are Picnic Boy." "You," she pointed to Jack, "are Baby Bob." "And YOU," she pointed to Chris. "I don't know much about you so whatever." "Let's just call him Stupid Bob" Zach said. Chris gave him an annoyed face as Iris said: "Well. That...was nice." She patted Chris on the shoulder. "Don't worry, you're not Stupid Bob. Or...at least for now." "...Great" he replied.
***********************************************
"Christine, when did you start going out with Andrew?"
"Andrew, when did you start going out with Christine?"
"How long have you two been going out?"
"How long have you two known each other?"
"How long have you....."
"SHUT UP!!!" Christine screamed at the crowd of people around her who were trying to interrogate her about her new relationship with Andrew at lunch. It had only been a weekend since the two started and today was the first day that they were back at school as a couple. News of it had spread through the school and all the 7th graders were asking them about it. Even random 6th graders neither Christine or Andrew knew or even seen before came up to them to ask.
Really, why everyone cared so much about 2 people going out was beyond her. There was always a fuss when 2 people start to go out, but this probably went down as the biggest fuss in Evergreen Middle School over a relationship.
"Ugh..this is going to be a long week," Christine thought.
****************************************************
Picnic Boy.
Baby Bob.
Stupid Bob?
Chris had been somewhat, er, 'pissed' at Zach at that comment. That, and a couple of other things about Zach that had annoyed Chris. Still, the two were close friends that sometimes did or did not get along. For now, they were getting along, just playfully messing with each other.
"What are you doing?" Iris asked Chris as she saw him doodling on the back of his paper. Chris smiled and showed the paper to her. Iris looked at it and laughed, because she saw that he had drawn a person getting eaten by a shark. "That better not be me" she grinned. Chris silently took back the paper, scribbled something on it, and handed it back to her, with an amused expression on his face. Iris saw that he had wrote "Zach" on the paper with an arrow pointing to the person getting eaten by the shark. Wow. The two started laughing, just as Ms. Wheels announced it was time for their quiz and told everyone to move their desks away so that they were away from anyone who could see each other's papers. Iris, Chris, Zach, and Jack scooted away their desks, and Iris started to laugh again. Chris looked up from his desk to see her still laughing over the drawing, and he smiled.
Tick tock, tick tock, time went by and people started to finish their quizzes. Zach was asked to collect all the papers and hand them to the teacher. As he collected the quizzes at their table, he accidently took Chris' paper, the one with him getting eaten by a shark. Iris and Chris quickly saw what he had just did, and Chris quickly snatched back the paper from him. "No! Those are my notes!" he yelled, trying his best not to laugh. Zach walked away, giving him a weird look. That was when all the laughs came out. "Do you think he saw the picture?" Iris asked. "I hope not," Chris answered.
They all walked down to the library with their other friends, then Iris met up with Chris again when they reached the location. "So..did he see the picture?" she asked again. "I don't know!" he replied. Zach started to walk up to them, with a grin on his face, holding a pencil. He started to try to aim the pencil at one of them. He threw it as they moved back, and it bounced off their feet. "I think you got your answer," Chris said to Iris. Iris pushed Chris infront of her as Zach tried to throw the pencil at them again. The three were now cracking up and the adults there were starting to scold them to be quiet.
Iris walked away and started to look for books to check out, when Chris walked up to her again and gave her the pencil Zach had been trying to throw at them. "What am I supposed to do with this?" Iris asked. Chris shrugged, and walked away quickly before Zach saw where and who Chris had disposed his pencil. When the three were out of sight, Iris smiled and laughed to herself. Boys.
***********************************************
It had been a long day for Christine, with everyone asking her about Andrew, getting all in her face. Now most of those busy bodies had gone home, while Christine and Andrew decided to stay after school together. Iris stayed with them too, feeling more like the 3rd wheel. Beforehand, she had tried to convince someone else to stay after school with her. Chris had even offered to stay after school, but in the end he couldn't. Bell and Jenny weren't staying after either. This has got to be entertaining.
The three were walking to their lockers together, with Christine and Andrew *wince* *wince* holding hands. They were trying to walk to their after school class as slow as possible apparently, so they could squeeze in some privacy for the first time that day.
The two kept chattering amongst themselves after taking seats in the classroom, including Iris every once in a while. Eventually, Iris wasn't the third wheel. They talked about the 5th grade when the three had trouble getting along and would always fight. Andrew also asked Iris if she dared him to touch Christine. Whether she answered that disturbing question or not wouldn't matter as he would pretend to touch her. When Christine would look way down or bend over to try to do homework, Andrew would look over her and try to make Iris see him trying to touch her. The result? Andrew getting a punch or two. Hehe.
Iris pretended to whine about being left out, and they talked about what was currently going on (besides the new relationship.) These included amusing conversations their friends had inbetween classes, unusual incidents in classes, and just current events. Iris also talked about the funny event that happened during English with Chris and Zach. Funny, just one story and the two had suspected that she liked Chris. As far as she was concerned, she and Chris were just friends, along with Zach. Right? For now, she was just sticking with that. Andrew claimed that Iris had blushed when he asked though. Figures.

NEW TEXT MESSAGE!
CHRISTINE: i broke up with andrew.
Iris read the new text message. She and Christine never really text messaged that much, they weren't like the girls out there who texted 24/7. Still, it was a fun way to keep in contact without having to call. Lately, text message seemed to take on a new way of communication for them though. And for Iris, it seemed like a way to learn things in a way where you don't have to learn it face to face.
Iris knew that this was going to be a quick relationship. But still, it had been only, what, two days? Then again, she wouldn't want people in her face about a relationship she was having. Not that she would ever be in that situation.
Whatever was going to happen next, nobody knew.
But one thing's for sure.
This isn't the end.

File 2: A Relationship Begins...CRAP!
She whipped out her cell phone and scrolled through her contacts to see who she could text. First name to catch her eye? Yep, the annoying Andrew. "Why not? I'm bored out of my mind anyway" she said to her imaginary friend Bob.
CHRISTINE: bored, whats up?
Tick tock, tick tock. Her phone alerted her as Andrew replied.
ANDREW: nothin much, same as u. bored.
CHRISTINE: yay, lets b bored 2gether!
ANDREW: lol, sure. doing nething?
CHRISTINE: nope, at the stage of boredom where im just staring at the ceiling.
ANDREW: wow, im playin video games....
Etc, etc. Ok, I won't bore you with all the details and random talk. Let's just say they talked all day, used up all their texts, and lived happily ever after. Alright? Great! Time to introduce more characters!
******************************************************
Ms. Wheels held a seating chart in her hand, pointing students to their new seat. Are they good seats or bad seats? We'll see.
"Right here, Iris," she pointed Iris to a seat at a table of 5 in the front. Iris was the first at the table to arrive, so who she would be sitting with for 1-2 months was a mystery.
As she wrote down her homework, someone's binder was placed onto the desk next to her. Iris looked up to see Chris, a quiet guy she had seen a couple times around school last year but never talked to. Next, Zach sat down at the seat across from her. Zach was this year's new kid, and so far he seemed like slightly geeky, but as a contrast to Chris, talkative and happy. Diagonally, was Jack. Oh, Jack, the annoying boy Iris met last year that always talked, talked, talked. He meant well, and was very nice, but sometimes, the boy just didn't know how to shut up.
"Hey, what's up, peeps?!" Jack yelled as he sat down. Iris, Chris, and Zach exchanged glances of annoyance, with the look of being freaked out glinting in their eye. "Um..anyways...I'm guessing you're the weird guy in this school?" Zach asked. Iris and Chris sniffled a laugh at that question, while Jack seemed unoffended. "I guess you could say that " he said with a grin.
"Class," Ms. Wheels said, getting everyone's attention. "We will be reading the book WITNESS and each table group will be responsible for taking notes of one to two characters. We'll be doing a project about the book later on. You will be keeping the seats you are in now for about a month."
"Well, I guess we should-" Iris started.
"-get used to each other?" Chris replied, in a straight forward (but not rude) way.
"Hm, yeah, good idea" Iris said, smiling.
"Ok, I'm up for it, hit me!" Jack called, loudly.
Zach turned to him uncomfortably, "You mean I have to deal with this guy for a month?" he said in an amusing way. "Yep!" Jack replied. They all laughed, and Iris leaned over to give Jack a punch.
Zach seemed like a nice and funny guy, Jack was..well..JACK, and there was something about Chris that Iris liked. So the answer to my question earlier? Well, yeah, I guess our seats were good seats. Lucky Iris :D
********************************************************
Lunch time. The first lunch after the ridiculous food fight that Christine, Iris, Bell, Jenny, Elise, and Andrew had taken a rain check on. For now, the atmosphere of the cafeteria seemed calm enough that they wouldn't have to worry about another food fight breaking out. Just in case, they planned another escape route.
"So, Christine" Iris started. "What'd you do during your weekend without us?" "Oh, this and that, I was pretty bored. I ended up texting Andrew most of the weekend" she replied. "O_O" everyone made a surprised face. "Andrew?" they asked, and Christine nodded. "Speak of the devil" Bell said as she pointed her chin to the table next to them where he was sitting. Sitting next to him and his friend since kindergarten, Diego? Chris.
"Well, if I didn't know any better I would've thought that you and Andrew were boyfriend and girlfriend" Iris laughed. Christine stared at her, "Hey, it's just texting and I was bored. Besides, I have my borderlines." "Sure, tell us when you start going out, ok?" Jenny said in a half kidding tone. The 5 girls continued to eat their lunches and talking randomly, as Iris snuck one last look at Chris again.
********************************************
8 o clock at night. Christine and Iris' nightly IM conversation before bed.
IRIS: phew, finished homework, dinner, shower, and everything. time to relax before bed
CHRISTINE: pff, lucky. i still have some hw im doing while multitasking

CHRISTINE: no!
IRIS: ...waiting for u to tell me that u 2 r going out O_O
CHRISTINE: pfff not quite
IRIS: we'll c. g2g bye
***************************************************
The next night, around 9 o clock.
"RING!" Iris' phone called, alerting her she had a new text. She opened the text, seeing it was from Christine, and read it slowly.
CHRISTINE:
OK, ME AND ANDREW R BOYFRIEND AND GIRLFRIEND NOW
Iris' phone fell out of her hand and hit the ground (luckily it's a carpet floor) and she screamed. Once again I ask the question, in a good way or bad way? Um...first off I was kidding about Christine and Andrew possibly starting to go out and never thought it'd become reality. Hint enough for you?

File 1: A Food Fight and a Cell Phone
Chaos had broken out in the good ol' Evergreen Middle School cafeteria. Someone had tripped and dropped their lunch tray on a wannabee popular's outfit which looked like it came out of some expensive chic store that normal people have never heard of. Was she just going to let it go? Obviously not. Instead, she picked up the untouched, inedible cup of chili and threw it at the poor boy.
Now that boy might be pitable and unlucky, but he's not a slow idiot. Quickly, he ducked and the icky chili slapped the next bystander in the face.
Next thing you know, everyone is throwing food at each other, grabbing all the inedible food they could grasp in their hands. In just 5 seconds, the air went from clean to chili, nacho cheese, milk, pizza, and peanut butter jelly sandwiches, being thrown across it. Poor air.
Iris, Christine, Bell, Jenny, and Elise quickly hid under the table. Before being able to crawl to their safety though, cheese splattered onto Iris' shirt. "Great, the day of a food fight and they're serving nachos with cheese and chili," she muttered sarcastically. "Ha ha, very funny. Now how are we going to get out of this mess? If the principal or administrator comes in, they might think we've done something and get us in trouble," Jenny said seriously. "And goodness knows Christine has gotten herself into enough trouble," Iris replied. Christine made an annoyed face and stuck her tongue out at her.
"Aw, sh*t," Andrew said as milk splashed onto his back while he crawled over to the girl's shelter. "Mind if I hide with you, doesn't matter, I'm here anyway" he said as he made himself at home. Christine gave him an annoyed look (one that Andrew usually recieves from everyone I may add) and asked "Have any ideas to get us out of here?" "Hmm..." Andrew thought blankly. (Another usual from Andrew) Now for something not so usual. "I've got an idea!" (O_O Told you it was not usual.) "How about one of you exchange cell phone numbers with me, and I'll run out the cafeteria exit door. When I see that no one is looking at the door, I'll call you to let you know you can sneak out," he said.
"Yeah, that'd be a great idea if you wouldn't be caught easily," Iris remarked."
Don't you know? I'm an Asian nija! I can make it to the door without being noticed! Besides...I'll always be trouble whether I get caught sneaking out or not," he said back. "Just let him go Iris, he has a point," Bell replied. Christine took her phone out and handed it to Andrew. "Here, put in your phone number and give me yours." After exchanging cell numbers, Andrew ran like a slightly drunk ninja out the exit when he thought no one was looking.
"I hope that baboon does get caught though," Elise added after he was out of earshot. Iris poked her. "You wanna get outta here or not?" she asked. *PLOP* A half-eaten PB & J sandwich landed on Elise and she screamed. "Ok, yes, that coward better not get caught!"
*Ring* Christine's cell phone rang, signaling it was safe to escape. "Ok, time to get out of here" she said. They ran to the door as fast as they could with food hitting them from left and right. Chili splattered onto Iris' shirt, right next to the cheese stain, as they reached the safe outside where Andrew was. "Hey, look, sis! You match! Have any nachos?" Christine said, laughing. Elise picked a nacho out of her hair and held it out for Christine to get. "Ew, I was kidding!" "It's so interesting to listen to you guys talk," Andrew said walking up to them. "Yep, it is, and thanks," Bell replied. "No problem" he said. Looking around, he then spoke up to say "So...how did you think we'd sneak back into the school?" Iris then did her signature move. She slapped her head.
